When should you send your wedding stationery out?

There are some rough guides to this, but you should always do what feels best for you and your wedding.

As a rule of thumb, save the dates should be sent out 8-10 months before your wedding day and 2-3 months for your wedding invitations. If you don't need save the dates, send out your wedding invitations a little sooner.

Destination weddings

For destination weddings, the earlier you can send out your invites the better. You should aim to send your save the dates out 9-12 months in advance. It's a good idea to include travel details at this point instead of waiting for the invitations so that your guests can prepare. For destination weddings, it's probably best to have a wedding website as there will be lots more details to include for your guests. Wedding invitations should be roughly 3 months.

When should you book a wedding stationer?

It's always best to book a wedding stationer as soon as possible in order to ensure you have plenty of time to discuss ideas, design and create the perfect stationery for your special day. Depending on the time of year and the stationer's availability, it is recommended that you book at least 4-6 months in advance. This leaves plenty of time for design revisions, printing and delivery of your stationery before the big day.
